Outside Lands Headliners Leaked

It seems that truly no good (or somewhat decent) secrets can go unspoiled. While the rest of us have been sitting on our thumbs, waiting for “June 1 at 9 a.m. PST on sfweekly.com” to arrive, Spin magazine just went ahead and published an ad for Outside Lands 2010, which listed a small handful of the San Francisco festival’s top-billing headliners.

SF Examiner reports that among the names listed in the ill-timed advertisement are Kings of Leon, Phoenix, My Morning Jacket, “British band” The Gossip, Al Green, and BlackStar. As a side note, keyCMND would like to state that we’re happy to see Al Green and BlackStar included among the terribly “white” festival lineup, and The Gossip is definitely not from the UK. They are from Portland.

Early Details Announced for Outside Lands 2010

One of San Francisco’s more ambitious music festivals, the massive music, art, food, and wine extravaganza Outside Lands has just announced some early details for its 2010 happening. First off, the festival will be jumping off in Golden Gate Park on August 14 and 15 with a shit-ton of food and wine vendors flexing their wares. Oh, you didn’t care about that? We don’t really either, but the powers that be have yet to announce the epic lineup set to grace their multiple stages. We’re told we have to wait until June 1 to feast our eyes on the lengthy list, though a certain Ranger Dave is supposedly giving out clues on his Twitter feed leading up to the date. More info will be posted as it comes in.

To-Do List: SXSW 2010

We’re taking a small break from our regularly scheduled music reviews to bring you this special edition of keyCMND’s To-Do List. Maybe we’re a little late to the game, but we’ve nonetheless decided to offer up a small number of events going down at this year’s SXSW festival that we find particularly interesting.

Some of these events were curated by labels we respect, a few are put on by some well-known music websites, and others are just parties with a shit-ton of cool bands and DJs. Not that anyone currently attending the festival will be in dire need of finding a way to entertain themselves, but maybe this list can be used as a sort of guidline or treasure map—leading your festival experience straight into party country. In any case, it’s up to you to choose your own destiny. Now, get off the internet, and go rage!
